About

After 30 years as a pastor, I understand how deeply faith, family, identity, and community can shape our lives. Some clients come to me because they want to talk with someone who understands the spiritual dimension of what they are experiencing—but who is not their pastor or connected to their faith community. Others prefer therapy that is not faith-based at all. In either case, I follow your lead and create space to explore grief, relationships, life transitions, questions of meaning, and the hurts that may be keeping you from moving forward. You do not have to navigate these challenges alone. Together, we can work toward healing, greater clarity, and a more hopeful way forward.

Experience

My social work practice is influenced by family systems theory, developmental psychology, and the idea of self-actualization. My person-centered style of therapy is modeled on a method combining active listening with unconditional positive regard first pioneered by Carl Rogers.

I am also skilled at working with people of all faiths and of no faith as they consider their spiritual journey and the spiritual questions of meaning and purpose, direction and destiny, suffering and injustice. In 30 years as a Christian pastor, I worked with individuals and families of all ages dealing with relationship issues and personal crises.
