About

I provide individual therapy and premarital counseling via a telehealth platform.

Sometimes it is the hurts from the past that are negatively affecting our lives. Sometimes it is the present that has lost meaning or no longer brings us joy. Sometimes it’s the future we either fear or can’t figure out. I support clients as they find healing and a way forward.

We all need help at certain points in our lives. If you are reading this, I suspect you may be at such a point. You are not alone. And you don’t have to do this alone. Just by recognizing that and reaching out for assistance, you are already more than halfway to a better present and a more hopeful future.

Experience

My social work practice is influenced by family systems theory, developmental psychology, and the idea of self-actualization. My person-centered style of therapy is modeled on a method combining active listening with unconditional positive regard first pioneered by Carl Rogers.

I am also skilled at working with people of all faiths and of no faith as they consider their spiritual journey and the spiritual questions of meaning and purpose, direction and destiny, suffering and injustice. In 30 years as a Christian pastor, I worked with individuals and families of all ages dealing with relationship issues and personal crises.
