Wendy Bernard Pitts, LCSW-C

About
I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where individuals can heal, grow, and feel understood. In therapy, I use a compassionate, client-centered approach to help people navigate life’s challenges and build on their strengths. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which can be especially helpful for those working through trauma or painful experiences. I also provide immigration psychological evaluations, offering culturally responsive and sensitive support during what can be a very stressful process.
Alongside my work with clients, I am dedicated to supporting other professionals in the field. I provide clinical supervision to LMSWs in Maryland, Virginia, and DC who are working toward independent licensure, as well as consultation to fully licensed clinicians in private practice who want a collaborative space to process complex cases.
Experience
With more than 2 decades of experience in clinical social work, I have had the privilege of serving in schools, community mental health, foster care, and private practice. This range of experience has given me the opportunity to work with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds and with a wide variety of concerns. I am especially passionate about mentoring and guiding the next generation of social workers, helping them to develop confidence, competence, and their own professional voice.
