Rashad Curtis, LCSW-C

About
Rashad is an outpatient clinician who is deeply rooted in his
community and committed to fostering growth, safety, and connection. He enjoys working with clients across the lifespan and is especially passionate about supporting diverse communities. He emphasizes culturally responsive care, with particular interest in Black mental health, identity development, and the impact of systemic and
intergenerational stressors on well-being. Rashad also maintains an LGBTQIA+-affirming and inclusive therapeutic lens, striving to create a space where all identities are honored and supported.
Outside of his professional role, Rashad has a long-standing love for coaching youth and creating positive environments where young people can feel empowered and build confidence. He is also a devoted husband and father to four sons—experiences that enrich his perspective, inform his relationship-centered approach, and deepen his compassion as a clinician. Grounded in empathy, collaboration, curiosity, and cultural humility, Rashad aims to support clients in building insight, strengthening resilience, and cultivating meaningful and sustainable change.
Experience
Rashad brings a strong background in school-based behavioral health, intimate partner violence support services, and work with at-risk youth living outside of the home. His early clinical work involved supporting young people and families navigating instability, trauma exposure, and disruptions in caregiving relationships. These experiences have shaped his attunement to how safety, identity, and connection influence emotional wellness across the lifespan.
As a developing clinician and life-long learner, Rashad integrates foundational, evidence-informed modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), DBT-informed skills, trauma-responsive practices, and person-centered therapy. He is committed to ongoing learning and supervision as he continues to build and refine his clinical expertise and therapeutic style.
